Upon completion of the course, par-
ticipants should gain strategies to:
■ Identify the indications for interventional and surgical procedures,
as well as outcome parameters
including potential complications.
■ Demonstrate fundamental knowledge of spine anatomical structures
and their relationship to each other.
■ Describe the key anatomic landmarks in the spine necessary to
perform safe interventional and
■ Incorporate knowledge learned and
skills acquired in fellowship training
and in future practice.
Participants will have the unique
opportunity to learn about both nonoperative and operative approaches in the
treatment of spinal disorders.

■ Target date for applicants to complete the requirements for application distribution.
This is NOT a deadline. Some programs accept applications at any time; others may
set a deadline. It is the applicant’s responsibility to contact training programs for
individual deadline dates.

■ Prior to December 4, interviews are not allowed to take place, with the following
October 25-28 (at NASS Annual Meeting – Orlando, Florida)
November 30-December 2 (at CSCRS Annual Meeting – Hollywood, Florida)
March 6-10, 2018 AAOS Interviews
■ Interview space will be available during the AAOS Annual Meeting in New Orleans for
Program Directors to conduct interviews. Space is limited and will be assigned on a
first-come, first-served basis. Sign-up information will be forthcoming in late 2017 or
Wednesday, March 28, 2018 Match Deadline
■ ALL rank lists must be submitted by 12:00 PM (PDT). After the deadline, rank list
choices will be locked and no changes can be made.
Wednesday, April 4, 2018 Match Results
■ Match results are made available to programs, applicants and US medical schools
through the SF Match website. Login is required to view results.
Thursday, April 5, 2018 Vacancies
■ Any vacancies which remain after the match will be announced on the Immediate
Vacancies page. The list is subject to change and we do our best to only post and
process requests to forward applications to active vacancies.
■ Contact programs directly or use the provided form to have your completed CAS file
sent. Programs are responsible for contacting the SF Match to remove a vacancy once
August 2019 Spine Surgery fellowship training begins
